Why We Love Our Cats

From a young age I have always had a love for animals, bringing home stray kittens, puppies, and even a wayward chicken who escaped a crate that fell from a truck.  Because of this affinity for animals, I studied and received my BS degree in biology and later becoming certified in Equine Reproduction.  Living on a horse farm, we received and /or adopted numerous unwanted animals; from cats and dogs to rabbits, chickens, goats and horses.  One of those animals was a cat from the local humane society who was to be put down that day as he was unadoptable.   I received a call with a plea to adopt him.  What I received was a red tabby male with his ears frozen off and a raging upper respiratory infection that had abscessed through the side of his head. Named Vincent Van Gogh, I spent several years of vet visits nursing him through his health issues and in return received many years of love and affection from the sweetest cat.
